Resin Patio Surfacing in Caerwys
Resin-bound surfacing creates smooth, permeable surfaces that are perfectly suited for patios and garden walkways. The finished result is long-lasting, low-maintenance, and available in an extensive selection of aggregate colours to complement different property aesthetics.
Our resin surfacing specialists have completed countless resin-surfaced patio installations and can tailor any patio area to meet your particular requirements in Caerwys.
What Is Resin Surfacing?
We mix natural aggregates—typically stone particles ranging from 2-6mm in diameter—with clear polyurethane resin, then spread the mixture onto a correctly prepared base using trowels. Following the curing phase, you’re presented with a solid surface where the individual stones remain visible yet are securely bound together, creating an attractive textured finish that feels comfortable underfoot.
The resin-bound technique is permeable—rainwater flows through the surface rather than collecting on top. This is essential for satisfying drainage regulations and practical functionality, as you won’t have puddles developing after rain.
New Resin Patio Installations
When constructing new patios, we start by installing a porous concrete foundation. This provides the stable base that resin surfacing demands while maintaining permeability throughout the entire structure.
The thickness depends on intended usage. Patios typically require 100mm of porous concrete together with an appropriate sub-base, all built with correct gradients for drainage, even though the surface is permeable.
Resurfacing Existing Patio With Resin
Older concrete patios that are structurally sound but look weathered are ideal candidates for resin overlay applications. We thoroughly prepare the existing surface—eliminating debris, repairing cracks, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion.
We not only deliver outstanding value for resin surfacing, but we also provide options such as porcelain tiled patio installations, sandstone patios and more.
